Restore Your Smile and Confidence with Dentures

Do you have loose dentures? Do you want your dentures to look so natural that others don't know you're wearing them?

We know that losing your natural teeth can be a difficult experience. At Hope Dental Professionals, we approach each patient with care and understanding, and we're here to help you restore your smile and confidence with dentures. Dr. Pate’s use of the Swiss technique allows for best fit and function.

What Dentures Can Do For You

Dentures aren't just about replacing missing teeth; they're about restoring your overall quality of life. Dentures can help you:

  • Improve Your Appearance: Dentures fill out your face and profile, preventing that sunken-in look that can happen with tooth loss.
  • Eat the Foods You Love: Enjoying a balanced diet becomes easier when you can chew comfortably again.
  • Speak Clearly: Replacing missing teeth can enhance your speech and communication.
  • Boost Your Confidence: A full, beautiful smile can have a huge impact on your self-esteem.

If you’re looking to restore your smile and experience the difference dentures can make, give us a call and schedule your appointment today!

The Swiss Denture System

Dr. Pate has been trained with the Swiss Denture System, which results in a well-fitted denture that functions well and looks natural without the need for denture adhesive most of the time. She has been providing great dentures for patients throughout her career since she received the award for Removable Prosthetics in Dental School. But more recently, she did continuing education in Complete Dentures (without dental implants) and found this method superior to the previous one. The Swiss Denture procedure takes five total visits:

  1. Initial consultation, panoramic X-ray, and impressions. Dr Pate will send the resulting models to the specialized dental laboratory to obtain custom trays for the next visit.
  2. Functional impression: Dr. Pate will take a final impression using the patient’s movements, which will result in the final borders of the denture, allowing a comfortable fit. She will also take a couple more records and send these items to the same dental laboratory, which will fabricate custom bases and a bite recording device for the next visit.
  3. This is the records appointment. Dr. Pate will take several records so that the laboratory can place the denture teeth in the ideal position for esthetics and function. She will send this information to the laboratory, and they will return the denture in wax for you to try in and approve.
  4. Denture try-on: We will have you try on the prosthesis in wax form so you can see how you like the aesthetic and function of it. Once you approve, we will send it to the laboratory to be processed.
  5. Delivery of the denture. Dr. Pate will present you with the final denture after she has made sure it fits comfortably in your mouth and is adjusted properly so that you can function well with it.

Full vs. Partial Dentures

We offer different types of dentures to meet your specific needs:

Full Dentures (Complete Dentures)

These are used when all of your natural teeth are missing on either your upper or lower jaw, or both. They consist of a full set of artificial teeth on a gum-colored base.

Partial Dentures

If you still have some healthy natural teeth, partial dentures can be a great option. They fill in the gaps with artificial teeth while preserving your remaining natural teeth. Partial dentures are typically attached to your natural teeth with precision attachments or clasps for a secure fit.

Dr. Pate will carefully evaluate your individual needs to recommend the best solution for you, considering your oral health, comfort, and aesthetic goals.

Caring for Your Dentures

To keep your dentures looking and feeling their best and to maintain good oral health, it’s important to care for them properly. This includes daily cleaning to remove food particles and plaque. Regular check-ups with Dr. Pate are also essential to ensure proper fit and identify any potential issues. With proper care, your dentures can provide you with a beautiful smile for many years.
