Dental Implant Restoration
Dental Implants to Reimagine Your Smile

Are you missing one tooth or several teeth?
Do you feel there is no hope for your smile?
Sometimes, we’ve done all we can do to save your natural teeth. But what happens then? Being left without the smile you once had can be damaging to your self-esteem and even more difficult on your day-to-day. If you want to regain your confidence and enjoy a healthy, functional smile, our dental implant restorations are the way to go. This restoration is popular for its ability to replace your missing or damaged teeth in a natural-looking way.
The Smile Solution For You
A Brighter Smile
Since they’re designed to blend with your existing teeth, our implants will give you a natural-looking smile that will leave you feeling confident! They play a crucial role in preserving your facial structure by preventing bone loss, a common consequence of tooth loss. This helps maintain a youthful appearance and overall facial harmony.
Better Functionality
Implants restore more than just your smile’s appearance. With a sturdy foundation for your replacement teeth, implants also empower you to chew and speak with confidence, just like you would with your natural teeth! They stimulate your jawbone, which promotes better oral health and prevents further tooth loss.
Easy Longevity
Dental implants offer a long-lasting and durable solution for your smile because, with proper care, they can last a lifetime! Unlike natural teeth, implants are resistant to decay and cavities, which helps you enjoy a healthy and worry-free smile for years to come. Caring for your implants is also similar to caring for your natural teeth, with simple brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups.
The Dental Implant Process
At your implant consultation, Dr. Pate will evaluate your mouth and x-rays and determine if you are a candidate for dental implants based on your health history and bone tissue. If you are a candidate, she will plan the restorations needed first. She may take photos or do a Diagnostic Wax-up which she will send to the surgeon who will place the implant(s) in order to obtain the best cosmetic result possible.
Dr. Pate will then make a referral to the Periodontist or Oral Surgeon who will evaluate your bone with a Cone Beam technology x-ray and the directions or Diagnostic Wax-up provided by Dr. Pate, to determine the best place for the implant(s) and schedule your surgery with their office.
After the surgery the healing will take approximately 3-4 months and the referred periodontist or surgeon will see you to make sure the implant has integrated. They they will then let us know you are ready for the restoration. This creates a stable foundation to replace your missing teeth with dental crowns, bridges, or dentures that are secured in place.
Dr. Pate will make you an appointment for the necessary impression and you will receive your crown or bridge in about three weeks. For complete dentures or prosthesis it will take approximately six weeks.
What You Should Know About Recovery
After undergoing dental implant surgery, you can expect to feel some discomfort and swelling for the first few days. We’ll recommend over-the-counter pain medication and ice packs to help alleviate any swelling you might have. You should avoid eating hard or crunchy foods during this time, but the surgeon will remind you about all the specifics with the post-operative instructions provided by their team.
Dr. Pate will make sure that you are comfortable and are functioning properly with your new restoration, however since it is a new prosthesis, there will bean adjustment period. This process is normal and often short-lived, and you will soon find the great benefits of having made this investment.
Caring For Your Dental Implants
- Brush and floss regularly, as you normally would, to keep the implant and surrounding tissue clean and free of bacteria.
- Since smoking can increase the risk of implant failure and compromise your restoration, we strongly advise you to quit smoking before undergoing this surgery and to avoid smoking after restoration.
- Attend regular dental check-ups and cleanings with Dr. Pate so that she can help detect any issues with your implant early on and prevent further damage.
- You should avoid biting down on hard objects or using your teeth to open packages. Doing so can cause damage to your implant and compromise its stability.
